On April 18, 2025, an exhibition of paintings from the stock collection "The Road we Choose", dedicated to the Year of Working Professions in Kazakhstan, opened in the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore in the Department of Fine Arts.
The exhibition featured works of art illustrating people's working lives, as well as their personal experiences and aspirations related to the professions they have chosen.
The works presented at the exhibition were created in the second half of the twentieth century, during a period of large-scale economic and social transformations. This time was a turning point in the country's history: urban and rural landscapes were changing, new industries were developing, and professions that had not even been thought of before appeared.
Many of the presented works were created as part of artistic business trips – the artists traveled to state farms, villages, and industrial enterprises to capture on canvas the real heroes of their time: tractor drivers, combine harvesters, milkmaids, shepherds, cowgirls, and many others.
Through artistic images, museum guests will have the opportunity not only to learn more about the professions that have played a key role in the history of the country, but also to think about choosing their own path, about the importance of work in everyone's life.
